What is a charging or filling hose?

Charging hose

A loading hose is an essential link in systems for loading, unloading, and transporting powders, granules, or liquids. This flexible connection ensures dust-free and controlled transfer between silos, trucks, containers, or process installations. Our solutions are used worldwide in sectors such as the food, chemical, bulk processing, and energy production industries.

What is a charging or filling hose?

A charging hose (also known as a filling hose or transport hose) is a flexible connection Used for filling or emptying silos, mixers, or trucks. The hose compensates for height differences and movements between the fixed installation and the vehicle, preventing dust spread and product loss. Its construction consists of multiple layers of technical fabric, rubber, or plastic, often reinforced with steel rings or spirals for added stability. This construction allows the hose to remain flexible while still being resistant to negative pressure, continuous product flows, and high temperatures.

Filling lines for every application

None loading installation is the same. That's why we supply custom-made charging hoses, fully tailored to diameter, length, pressure class, and chemical resistance. Our filling lines are available in various versions:

  • Rubber loading hoses: for high wear resistance and heavy bulk flows
  • Textile loading hoses: light, flexible and ideal for powders or foodstuffs
  • PU and PVC loading hoses: transparent versions for visual inspection of the product
  • Antistatic and ATEX versions: suitable for explosion-proof environments

In addition, the hoses can be fitted with flanges, cuffs, klemringen or connections. This ensures easy integration into existing loading systems or loading bellows.

Technical properties and standards of the charging hoses

Our loading and charging hoses can be equipped with:

  • Diameter: 100 mm to >1000 mm
  • Working pressure: up to 2 bar or negative pressure for suction applications
  • Temperature range: –30 °C to +200 °C (depending on material)
  • Connections: flange, clamp ring, tri-clamp of transition cuff
  • Materials: rubber, PVC, PU, PTFE or textile reinforcement

All products are manufactured according to strict quality standards and tested for air tightness, dimensional stability, and mechanical strength. Our charging hoses can be FDA-approved, antistatic, or flame-retardant. We provide material certificates, test reports, and declarations of conformity upon request, so you can be sure your system meets the required standards.
